It's Been Quiet Around Here...

Sorry there haven't been any updates in a while, but rest assured: there will STILL be a wedding on September 14 (not that you should have thought otherwise), and we are working diligently and feverishly behind the scenes. And when I say "we", I mean mostly Jennie.

The answer to the age-old question, "Where are you two registered?"

Despite swim meets, finals, and busy times in general, we have finally had a chance to register!  In case you are at all curious what kinds of things we like and need, go ahead and check out our registries: Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Amazon.com.

Come back soon for the latest and greatest wedding news!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Now that you've got your hotel information, here's your transportation info:

Planes

You'll want to fly in to San Jose International Airport (SJC). The airport is about 5-10 minutes from Mission Santa Clara, and only about 5 minutes from the Courtyard hotel (our Official Hotel). In fact, the Courtyard offers a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Click on this link to see a list of airlines that fly in to San Jose. Southwest Airlines is probably your best bet for a combination of service to San Jose and affordability - check out their web site here.

If San Jose International Airport doesn't float your boat (or your plane), check out San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). Both are about 45-60 minutes from the Mission and the Courtyard hotel. A list of carriers for SFO can be found here, and carriers for OAK can be found here.

Trains

I know what you were thinking - trains? C'mon, you won't really have any information about trains! Well, I'll admit, I painted myself into a corner on this one - but I'm getting myself out of that corner because I DO have train information - even useful information!

If you're planning any trips up to San Francisco while you're here, check out the Caltrain web site and schedule here. It's an easy, affordable, stress-free way to get up to The City (Spoon!...sorry, inside joke). Also, check out Caltrain if you plan on arriving at, or departing from, San Francisco International Airport.

For more information regarding Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), check out their web site here.

What? You want to take a train cross-country to make it to the wedding? Amtrak should be able to help you out! Check them out here.

Automobiles

For car rental, shuttle, bus, taxi - even limousine! - information, check out the appropriate link for your airport:

San Jose International Airport (SJC): Click here
San Francisco International Airport (SFO): Click here
Oakland International Airport (OAK): Click here

And because I know someone will ask, click here for Greyhound's web site.

We have a reception site!

We have decided on a place for our reception: Coyote Creek Golf Club! Its located in a beautiful area about 20 minutes south of San Jose. We love that its close to the city, but far enough away to feel a little secluded. Its also convenient because its right off of the 101, yet the clubhouse is far enough away from the highway to be quiet and relaxed. Check the new link on the left under "Important Places" to get a little more information about the site. We hope you'll like it as much as we do!

Our latest update...

We really will be getting married!

We met with a priest today who has agreed to marry us. After much searching (and worrying, on my part), we found a priest at the local parish here that has agreed to officiate our wedding ceremony. We also scheduled our Rehearsal date; mark your calendars for Sept. 12, 2008 at 4:00pm at the SCU Mission. Its all coming together! Now if we can only find a reception site...
